My Reading Today

The book I'm reading now is called "No Boys Allowed". This book was pretty interesting because it talks about something that could happen in real life. I talks about a perfect that got affected because of his dad leaving there for a younger woman. It could of went better if this book was a book for older kids instead of for young kids like middle school kids. I didn't really like this book because it talks to much about little kids stuff and that don't get my interest. For example it talks about a little girl who collects stamps. She's finishing her dads stamps book.

~My Reading Life~

My reading life hasn't really been that interesting. It's been kind of boring. I don't know if it's because of the books i get or maybe it's just because I just don't like reading books at all. I don't find no point in doing the journal entries. I don't learn nothing new from my book i just think wastes my time a little wen i could be doing like something that actually proves I read my book. I think so far i haven't really done nothing wrong when it comes to reading, I just think I need to pick better interesting books.
I would be interested in reading books about love and relationships. I don't know why but that subject interests me. I would do great on my book talk if I found a book like that. I also wouldn't bother reading at all if I found a book about that.
I think that book talks are fairly easy. You just got to give it thought about what you want to write first. Like it would really help if you make a note card before you do your book talk.

Life Connection to "No Boys Allowed"

My favorite character and I would talk about our relationships with our boyfriends because she apparently loves to talk a lot about this boy she’s all in love with. Sometimes that happens with me too. Like her sister gets tired of her talking about the same thing over and over again which is about this boy Jason she's like sprung on. But i know how to control that so i wont seem too sprung.\
The worst part of the book was when they used to be a perfect family till the dad left them to marry some other woman. I think that was pretty selfish and he wasn't thinking about his kids. Just because the other woman was younger than Cassie's mom. He didn't even think about Cassie and her sister. He just thought of himself being happy and feeling better of himself for marrying a younger woman.

Life Connections

I'm similar to Santiago in a way because i kinda changed from how i was in the past. In a way I changed like he did but in a way no. I changed from being a little girl to being more mature and serious. I'm different from Santiago because I don't follow my dreams. He is like working so hard to achieve that significant dream he had. Also he falls in love quick. I don't. I bet he don't even know what love is. I'm not saying I do, but i kinda got a better idea than he does.
I disagree with his decisions because he don't think about things before he acts, he just acts. Like for example, he didn't really think when he decided to go search for his treasure, he could of lost his whole life right there. He risked it. He also didn't think that that guy he trusted with his money would rob him, but he did. Also he decided to ask that girl to marry him too quick. I think that for someone to think about marriage is to know the person real good and trust that they won't get hurt. Santiago don't know if the girl is trustworthy or loves him like he says he loves her. He just thinks he could trust her. But then again he trusted the wrong person a while ago and that person turned out to rob him.
I'm pretty sure I would never do the same thing he did to pursue his dream because I don't believe in "dreams could come true". And I specially wouldn't go far just to try to make a dream happen. A dream that you're not sure might happen.

Caring for someone could affect most of your decisons. It could make you want to change for them and do what's better for them and not for you. For example if your planning to move somewhere else to get a better life but the person you care for won't move you won't move just to be near that person.

This image relates to The Alchemist because this girl is real pretty, just like the girl that Santiago feel in love with on his trip to the desert. Santiago described her as the most beautiful girl he's ever seen. The girl Santiago's in love with he wants to marry her. It was like love at first sight.

It Happened To Nancy

I think that all girls should read this book. The reason is because this way they could become aware that anything could happenen. Like Nancy she only had sex with one guy and she got aids. She has no idea of how that could happenen if she only has sex with one guy. The reason was because the guy that she had sex with had the HIV virus. This book is about a girl who falls in love with the wrong guy and is blinded by his sweatness and kindness. I think in a way it helps you a lot become aware that you can't really trust a guy who you barely met. Don't give him your everything until he proves to you he's real. At the end you might regret it if you did give him your everything.

The Alchemist

In the beginning of the book Santiago was a kid who believed that dreams could come true if you try and achieve them. He was a kid who was only looking to travel. So far he has learned that it's not that easy to achieve a dream, it takes a while and maybe you won't even get to achieve your dream. Also that there's other things in life than just traveling.
Santiago is totally different from the beginning. Before all he wanted to do was just be a Sheppard so he could travel. Now he wants to go to pyramids in Egypt just to find the treasure that he dreamed about. He now don't trust no stranger. He learned it from a bad experience.

Letter To The Author

Dear Author,
Well I've been reading the book It Happened To Nancy written by you. I'm really into it for some reason. It's very interesting because it talks about things that might happened to us teenagers in the real world if were careless. Like for example, Nancy got HIV because she feel in love with the wrong guy who lied to her about everything! He lied to her about his age. He said he was 18 when that fool was 24! Omg what a molester. He also told her she was one of a kind, his only one, and a very special girl who in the past days meant the world to him. The book helps girls in a way because it shows some things a guy could use to get a girl to give him what he really wants, which is sex. This guy, Collin, raped Nancy. I think this way pretty scandelous since she gave him all her trust and technically fell in love with him.
I got a couple of questions I need to ask you though. Does Nancy's father know she has HIV? How did her mom take it when she found out Nancy had HIV? How did she tell her mom? Why doesn't she just tell Lew that she has HIV since she loves him, according to her. I would really like the answers to these questions but there is no way I could get them. But I would just want to ask you trough a letter. Well thank you for taking the time to read this letter.
Sincerely, Angela Bolanos

What has This reading Book Done for Me.??

The book Matilda just made me think that even though it's a fiction book some of the things in it could be true. Like the fact that some little kids could be too smart for their age like my little brother. Freaky, but true.
What I learned about myself was that I really don't like to read. Specially not books that are about little kids. I noticed that even thought I read the book and finished it it don't catch my interest. I'm more into the books that are about relationships.
What I learned about others by reading this book was that some people actually thought this book was interesting. I learned that it's not like I think, not everyone has my same interests.
I should keep on reading more and more to improve my reading score and to do better in school. Also i could learn new words that I didn't know before and that's one of the best benefits of reading.
The funny thing about this book was the little stick figures the illustrator drew on the book. It's like he didn't even want to do it. I understood the pictures and that's a good thing but the pictures we too ugly! Ugly enough to scare a little kid.

What's Gonna Happen To Her.?

Well I'm reading the book Matilda by Roald Dahl. I predict that at the end of the book Matilda, the main character, is probably going to end up living happily ever after. I doubt that she's going to stay living with her parents because with her mind powers she could do anything. I doubt she wants to stay with her parents because they try to make her life miserable. I think she's probably going to go live with her in her teacher Ms.Honey. She loves her like a mom. A perfect mom she never had.

Life Connections To My Book

Recently, I have read the book called Matilda by Roald Dahl. This book is about a little girl who's too smart for her age and has like brain powers or something. I think this book is related to my real life expierence in a way because right now I think my little brother is too smart for his age. He's barely 6 and he already knows how to add and subtract, he knows too many words for his age. Sometimes he scares me beause he sometimes comes up with these weird words that I don't even know the meaning of till he tells me it. He knows a lot of the words used it the Star Wars movies, like, "Andriod". I didin't even know whta that ment till now. Also it's like he has some weird kinda powers.lol When ever he's mad at me, he can turn people mad at me like my mom and dad. I hate that. So that's how my little brother is kinda related to the little girl Matilda in the book.

Dream's Importance

I think that dreams are not really important. They are just part of your fear or something you want but will never happen. In the Alchemist Santiago decided to follow his dream because I guess It meant a lot to him and he wanted it to come true. If I were in his case and I had a dream that I really wanted, I wouldn't go for it even though I would really want it. I wouldn't go for it because I know dreams NEVER come true. So why waste my time and try? It won't be worth my time.
I think that dream interpretation is probably true because it tells you what your dreams mean. Like it translates the to real life. But dream interpretation just tells you why your probably dreaming about it for. It don't say it's going to happen.
For example the last couple nights I been dreaming about getting rich. And that isin't because t's actually going to happen. It's just because I'm thinking about money too much these days. Also I had dram that I had a new boyfriend and had broken up with mine. That won't happen because I don't want it to happen. The future Is up to me, not up to the dreams I have.

Girl Like Matilda.???

This picture is related to the book Matilda by Roald Dahl, That I had read in the past. The book is about a little girl who is too smart for her age. In other words she's advanced. The picture here on the side is just like it because it has a little girl about the age of 3 reading a book. At that age no little kid really thinks about reading.
